Ragan.Com, which features “news, ideas, & conversations for communicators worldwide,” has published an article about Warner Norcross & Judd’s One Book, One Firm program. Sarah McAdams, a Massachusetts-based author who writes on human resource issues for a variety of publications, interviewed Rodney Martin in August for the article, which you can read by following this link: Law firm’s all-employee book club communicates diversity. This is the second article that Ms. McAdams has written about the firm’s diversity program.
Bich Minh Nguyen, author of this year’s One Book, One Firm selection “Stealing Buddha’s Dinner,” will be speaking at Grand Valley State University on Thursday, September 18 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Cook-DeWitt Center on the Allendale campus.
Warner Norcross & Judd has been recognized by the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan (“WLAM”) and Michigan Lawyers Weekly as a “21st Century Innovator.” The 21st Century Innovators award was established by WLAM and Michigan Lawyers Weekly to recognize firms that “are leading the charge” in “finding, hiring, retaining and nurturing the best and the brightest from each new generation of young lawyers.”
Warner was one of 21 firms — including four headquartered in Grand Rapids — to receive the award yesterday in a ceremony in Birmingham. Congratulations to Grand Rapids-based Varnum Riddering Schmidt & Howlett, which was recognized as the 2008 21st Century Innovator of the Year.
The eighth annual Tulipanes Latino Art and Film Festival is being held in Holland this weekend. Tulipanes promotes a positive image of Latino youth, families, senior citizens, and professionals through a wonderful array of exhibits, performances, movies, and activities.
